Linen Closet Organization

I took some time to clean out and organize our daughter’s bathroom and linen closet. She is only four and when we have guests come they stay in her room and use this bathroom, so it does double duty.

I streamlined the organization with matching and cohesive baskets and bins. The top shelf is lined with these very affordable soft-sided baskets and can hold miscellaneous items that aren’t needed very often. It instantly made the closet feel cleaner!

I had a clear lazy Susan left over from organizing the primary bathroom linen closet and these are great for corralling bottles. I’ve put extra shampoo, conditioner and body wash in here. I also designated one of the compartments to medicine and bandaids. This is great to have handy for your guests, but also since we keep all of our medicine downstairs in the kitchen, if we wake up in the middle of the night with a headache or is Rosie gets a boo-boo, we have quick access to Advil and bandaids.

The acrylic drawers in the middle just hold some travel sized products like baby wash and more medicine. I plan to continue filling this as needed.

I found these acrylic canisters that are perfect for cotton balls, cotton swabs and cotton rounds. I put them on a wood tray (notice how it matches the soft-sided bins!) with this canister filled with nail files that I found out HomeGoods, (I can’t link these, but I see these all the time in the checkout line! I’ve also seen some with ponytail holders that I think is also so cute for a guest bathroom.) cotton balls, cotton swabs and cotton rounds.

I kept the shelf with the towels pretty much the same, Just removed the loofahs and stored them in a soft-sided basket and just keep the washcloths in the woven basket in the middle. Just felt like that looked neater and cleaner. I also refolded and stacked the towels neater.

I like to keep this basket with baby wash and hooded towels four our guests that have young children. I sometimes also tuck a couple of bath toys in there before they arrive. I placed another soft-sided basket next to it to store Roslyn’s bath toys.

The bottom shelf just has those same soft-sided baskets lined up. I have the loofahs, (these are brand new ones that can be used by guests), hand towels, cleaning cloths and, on the end, flushable wipes.

On the floor I added another cleaning bin and just straighten these up a bit.

Ahhh…

Now for some good ‘ol before and afters…

Vanity Drawer Organization

The storage in the bathroom vanity is designated to Roslyn since she does use this bathroom every day. The top drawer has her bows (I bet you recognize these drawer organizers!), clips and elastics (these acrylic containers are left over from a desk drawer organization set) and the drawer below that houses everything else: mouthwash, brush, comb, washcloths, cotton swabs, toothpaste, saline spray, moisturizer and extra toothbrushes. (I’ve organized these items in these collapsible bins from Ikea.)

I hope this have given you some inspiration or ideas to get your linen closet organized. If you’re looking for more organizational ideas, be sure to check out my other organization articles and subscribe to my newsletter so you are notified when new posts are published!
