Christmas Decor (that isn't really Christmas decor!)
Hey guys! Happy first day of Christmas. I can’t believe it’s already December 1st. But what I really can’t believe is how many Christmas trees and decorations are already sold out! No fear, though, I’ve got you. I’ve curated a few items (all from Amazon) that are currently in stock and still give your home a festive feeling.
Everyday items (all from Amazon) that are holiday-esque for you living room or bedroom.
Living Room (or Bedroom) Decor Ideas
First up, home decor items for your living room…or even your bedroom. I know for me, my bedroom is always neglected because I want the rest of the house to be decorated first and then I run out of decorations, so this would be a great option to “holiday-fy” your bedroom. Or, if you’re just late to the Christmas decoration game (even though it’s only the 1st - you’re late!), you’ve just moved into a new home or you need a few more items to add to your current holiday decorations, these home decor pieces will give you that holiday spirit.
Start with the sofa (or bed) and add some knit throw pillows. You can typically find these in all colors so pick one, two or three in the Christmas/Holiday colors you are going for. The knit will be cozy and give your space that winter feel. Next, add a chunky knit throw blanket. It’s all about cozy, knit textures to really give your space that feeling of wanting to cozy up with a cup of hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies.
Speaking of hot cocoa, you’ll need a place to put that mug. Grab some coasters in your holiday theme color to put on your coffee table or side tables (or nightstands). Also on that coffee table, add some coffee table books with covers that have your holiday colors on them. They don’t have to be Christmas books, specifically. The Ralph Lauren and Gucci books I picked are so vibe-ing with my theme. And then Eat, Drink, Nap? I mean, what else are the holidays for? I honestly have no idea what this book is about, but the title is perfect and will look great on my coffee table! Add a candle, a tray and maybe a decorative box (to stash those remotes) and voila, a warm, holiday coffee table!
Next, add candle sticks and a pitcher or vase with eucalyptus stems (which look very winter-y to me) and you’ve got the mantle covered. You can even add some vintage books here, if you have them on hand. I love adding old books to my mantle!
Lastly, look for decor pieces or figurines that lend themself to your holiday decorating theme. These vintage bells are so beautiful and while these are super popular this year for Christmas, these are currently in stock. I also found this deer bust that is just so elegant. Get creative and think outside of the box!

Kitchen or Dining Room Decor Ideas
Next up, your kitchen and dining room. Start with a table runner on your dining table in your holiday theme color(s). On top add more eucalyptus stems and some slim candle sticks in the center. Set the table with plain white dishes (always plain white!) on top of beautiful chargers to make them pop! Add some crisp, white linen/cloth napkins with contrasting flatware. You can find all kinds of glasses and stemware that will give your table more of the holiday spirit. I found these antique-looking wine glasses that have a gold rim which scream Christmas to me! You can also find great coffee mugs in your holiday decor colors. Set those on the table as well, or create a holiday coffee station and display them on a tray with hot cocoa, coffee, tea and all the fixings. I love how this mug comes with a lid (my coffee always get so cold so fast!) and a gorgeous spoon. And this mug is just a beaut! I would use her all year long.
Switch out your dish towels with some that have the colors of your holiday decor theme. For your holiday kitchen island decor, add a tray with pinch bowls or appetizer plates, a candle, plant and these cute gold deer figurines. On your countertops, have a bowl with fruit (I think oranges are best for this time of year!) displayed. Add cutting boards/cheese boards propped up against the backsplash behind your stovetop. Change out your utensil holder and salt and paper shakers with ones that fit your holiday theme colors. And don’t forget to add some greenery - those eucalyptus stems will serve you well!
